Become a Certified Casting Instructor
 
HOW DO YOU GET CERTIFIED?
In general, you must :
  • be an FFF member or inform FFF Headquarters that you wish to take advantage of the Certification Challenge Program (CCP). The CCP is designed to allow Instructors from other organizations to “challenge” the Masters test without first having the FFF Certified Casting Instructor certification. Only certified instructors from other recognized instructor programs can apply.
  • attend a workshop
  • pass both a written and a performance testthat demonstrates your teaching/casting abilities. 

Specifics:

1. Check the certification calendar to find out about the next certification opportunity in your area
Because of high demand for the certification and the need for personalized testing, you must pre-register through the FFF National Office at (406) 222-9369 ext 0 or ext 106 to pay test fee. questions?

 
2. Pay a $100.00 fee to take the test and an additional $50.00 if you pass.  Total fee is $150.00
Methods of payment: VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, AMEX and personal checks.

The annual renewal fee to maintain certification is $45.00.
 
3. Participate in the 3-4 hour certification process, which includes successfully completing:
  • A fly casting/teaching workshop that constitutes the initial phase of the test
  • A comprehensive written test on various aspects of casting and teaching, with true/false and multiple choice questions
  • A Casting Performance Test
