Todd Heggestad

President's Drift

May 2014

Spring has arrived to the upper mid west area of the country after a long winter.  In my home area of Duluth, MN we had over 130 inches of snow this year.  Now we can shift our energies to fly fishing and all that goes with our sport.  We have two opportunities to enhance your fly casting skills with a work shop in St Paul, MN on May 17th.  Contact Lyth Hartz at for more information.  We also are planning a casting get together in western Minnesota (Detroit Lakes area) for July 19, 2014.  More details to follow.

The Upper Midwest Council is still in need of volunteers for board positions.   In particular a vice president and secretary.  Representatives from the clubs in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois are also needed.  Please contact me if you have any interest or questions.  We are in the growing stage and working on establishing our presence.  So far, the Minnesota region has had the most interest hence the activities that we have sponsered have occurred in Minnesota.  But we do cover Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.  If you have ideas, contact me.

Drop me an email, text or phone call if you have questions or if you would like to provide input. Thanks.

Todd Heggestad, President
